Delhi Metro Completes Safety Check For Majlis Park To Maujpur Corridor Launch

The Delhi Metro is preparing to launch the Majlis Park to Maujpur corridor, enhancing urban connectivity with eight new stations. Following a successful safety inspection, this expansion signifies progress in Delhi's metro system and aims to improve public transport.

After a thorough safety examination, the Delhi Metro is set to launch the Majlis Park to Maujpur corridor, marking a significant step forward in the expansion of the city's metro network. The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) recently completed the safety inspection, indicating that the 12.318 km stretch is almost ready for public use. Minor adjustments have been recommended, and upon their implementation and subsequent approval, the new corridor will officially open, enhancing connectivity across the city.

This new addition will not only extend the existing Pink Line but also include eight new stations, facilitating smoother travel across the region. The extension aims to provide direct metro access from Shiv Vihar to Jagatpur Village, effectively serving the Burari area and significantly improving the urban transit landscape. This initiative is part of the broader Phase 4 development of Delhi's metro system, which intends to add 44 new stations by the fiscal year 2026-27.

The extended route will connect Majlis Park to Jagatpur Village over a 5.5 km stretch, featuring three stations at Burari, Jharoda Majra, and Jagatpur Village. This project complements the larger 12.318 km Majlis Park-Maujpur network, poised to become a critical component of Delhi's metro infrastructure. The completion of this corridor is a testament to the city's commitment to enhancing public transport facilities and reducing traffic congestion.

With the new corridor, residents and visitors alike will enjoy improved access across the city, with the full Majlis Park to Maujpur stretch housing a total of eight stations: Burari, Jharoda Majra, Jagatpur Village, Soorghat, Sonia Vihar, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, and Yamuna Vihar. This expansion not only signifies growth in the metro's reach but also a leap towards a more connected and accessible Delhi.

The operationalization of this corridor marks a critical milestone in the evolution of Delhi's metro services, showcasing significant progress in public transportation infrastructure. With increased connectivity and the promise of efficient, reliable metro services, the city is set to experience enhanced commuter convenience and a boost in its overall urban mobility. This development is a clear indication of the Delhi Metro's ongoing commitment to expanding its network, thereby improving the quality of life for its residents.
