Delhi Metro Announces Temporary Pink Line Timing Changes Due To Construction

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has announced temporary adjustments to the Pink Line schedule due to Phase IV construction, impacting morning services until May 10. Commuters should plan journeys according to the revised timings.

Starting this Tuesday, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced changes to the operation times on the Pink Line due to Phase IV construction activities on the Majlis Park–Maujpur corridor. For five days, passengers can expect delays ranging from 12 minutes to an hour and 10 minutes in the morning. This temporary schedule adjustment is set to last until May 10, affecting the start times of the first trains from various stations.

In addition to the morning delays, the DMRC has also stated that metro services between Jaffrabad and Maujpur-Babarpur will cease operation after 11:03 PM starting from Monday night and continuing until May 9. Normally, metro services kick off at 6:00 AM across the network. However, the construction work has necessitated a shift in the schedule for certain sections of the Pink Line.

Revised Metro Timings

The initial train from Shiv Vihar is now scheduled to depart at 7:00 AM, moving from its usual 6:00 AM start. Similarly, the first departure from Maujpur-Babarpur will be delayed by over an hour, with the service starting at 7:10 AM instead of 6:00 AM. The adjusted timings also affect other stations; for example, the South Campus will see its first train at 6:12 AM, a slight delay from the regular 6:00 AM commencement. Further adjustments include a 6:53 AM first train from IP Extension, marking a significant delay from the usual 6:00 AM start time. Additionally, the service from Sarai Kale Khan will begin at 6:36 AM, revised from the earlier 6:15 AM start.

Despite these changes, normal services will resume on the rest of the Pink Line, ensuring minimal disruption outside of the affected sections. The DMRC has taken to social media to inform passengers of the new timings, ensuring commuters are well aware of the adjustments ahead of their journeys.

The DMRC's efforts to manage the impact of construction work on daily commuters exemplify the organization's commitment to maintaining efficient metro operations amidst ongoing infrastructure developments. As construction progresses, these temporary adjustments are crucial for ensuring the safety and smooth functioning of metro services.

As the work on the Majlis Park–Maujpur corridor continues, the DMRC has assured passengers that these changes are temporary and aimed at facilitating the expansion and improvement of the metro network in the capital. Commuters are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly during this period, keeping in mind the revised schedules for the affected sections of the Pink Line.
