Delhi Govt to Launch Electric Buses for Noida Airport Passengers, Service to Start Soon

A new and eco-friendly way to travel from Delhi to the upcoming Noida International Airport is on the way. The Delhi government and Jewar Airport authorities have signed an agreement to start air-conditioned electric buses for this route. This decision was confirmed through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on Tuesday. The buses will provide a greener and more convenient travel option for passengers once the airport begins operations.

Delhi Govt to Launch Electric Buses

Electric Buses for Better Connectivity

The Noida International Airport is located around 75-85 kilometers from Delhi. Currently, the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi is well connected by buses run by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). The DTC also operates buses on 12 routes to Noida's Electronic City. However, this new service will improve transportation further by offering a direct, eco-friendly, and comfortable option for travelers and workers heading to Noida.

Key Bus Stops in Delhi

Delhi's Transport Minister, Pankaj Kumar Singh, provided details about the project. He said that the new electric buses would operate from three important locations in Delhi: Sarai Rohilla, Anand Vihar, and Kamla Market in North Delhi. These buses will be different from regular bus services, as they will go directly to the airport terminal rather than stopping nearby. This direct-to-terminal service will make travel more convenient and time-saving for passengers.

A Beneficial Initiative for Many Travelers

Singh also expressed confidence that this service will help many people in Delhi. "The MoU was signed today. Once operational, people living in Delhi will benefit a lot. Not only those going to the airport, but those going to Noida for work will also benefit a lot through this upcoming bus service," he said. This means that apart from air travelers, daily commuters and people working in Noida will also find this service useful.

Trial Phase Before Full Operation

Before launching the full service, the government will run the electric buses on a trial basis. This will help assess how many people use the service daily and if any changes are needed to improve it. The trial phase will also provide insights into making the service more efficient and beneficial for passengers.

This initiative marks an important step toward sustainable and environmentally friendly public transport. The introduction of electric buses will reduce pollution and provide a comfortable travel experience. Once fully operational, the service is expected to transform travel between Delhi and Noida International Airport, making it easier and greener for everyone.
