The capital city of Bihar has seen rapid development over the past few years, and the execution of the metro construction project marked a significant change in the transportation system of the state. To benefit the lives of Patna's residents by reducing vehicles and easing traffic congestion, the Delhi Metro Rail

Corporation is working on the project.
Trial Run of Patna Metro on 7 September
On 7th September 2025, Patna Metro completed its first trial on track successfully from Patna Depot to Bhoothnath Metro Station. This 3-coach train showcasing Bihar's rich cultural heritage with pictures of Golghar, Mahatma Buddha, and Mahavir Mandir, covered a total of 4.5 km through the major stations like Patliputra Bus Terminal (ISBT), Zero Mile, & Bhoothnath. It maintained a low speed during the trial. The first phase of the Patna Metro project has two main routes: the North-South corridor from Patna Junction to Danapur, and the East-West corridor from Patna Sahib to the AIIMS campus. These routes are designed to serve busy areas and make traveling across the city easier. Moreover, there will be five metro stations initially:
• New Pataliputra Bus Terminal
• Zero Mile
• Bhoothnath
• Khemnichak
• Malahi Pakadi
Key Systems Tested on the Trial Day:
• Rolling Stone Fitness to check the train's performance on track
• Overhead Electrification System to check electrical systems
• Tracking fitness to ensure alignment, stability, and safety
After the completion of all the trials with different speeds, the Patna Metro Corridor II, known as 'the Blue Line', will finally be inaugurated and ready for use.
