Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation has announced a power outage on 3 October from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. due to maintenance work. It will affect Chennai's Porur and its surrounding areas. The company has expected residents' cooperation during the power cut, as it is carried out to ensure
long-term smooth functioning. Residents should either schedule their important activities before or after the power outage. They are also advised to stay careful and follow safety measures during the power outage.

TANGEDCO's Disciplinary Measures
The company has taken disciplinary action against its members in two distinct incidents. A total of five officials from Onnupuram substation, including a Junior Engineer and a foreman, have been suspended due to failure to follow Standard Operating Procedures during the erection of electrical poles, which led to a fatal accident involving a gangman. On the other hand, the company also reported employees for illegal House Rent Allowance (HRA) claims, who are residing in Pasumalai's government quarters. They are asked to reimburse about Rs. 30.6 lakh as per the recent audit.
