Several parts of Chennai will experience a scheduled power outage on Tuesday, July 14, as the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation (TNPDCL) carries out routine maintenance work across multiple substations and feeder lines.
According to the electricity department, power supply will remain suspended from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with electricity expected to be restored earlier if maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule. Residents and businesses in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements before the scheduled shutdown.
Why is there a power cut in Chennai today?
The planned outage is part of the electricity department's routine maintenance programme, aimed at improving the reliability and safety of the power distribution network. Supply is expected to resume before 2:00 PM, depending on the completion of maintenance work.
