Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced that the B4 entrance of Nandanam Metro Station, located near the BSNL office, will be permanently closed from March 23, due to ongoing Phase-II construction and integration work.

Why is the Step Taken?
The closure is part of important development activities aimed at improving future connectivity, making travel more convenient, and ensuring better operations under the Phase-II expansion project. Even though this entrance will shut down, passengers will still be able to access the existing Phase-I station through a new entry point that will be opened as part of the ongoing work.
Chennai Metro's Advisory for Commuters
CMRL has advised commuters to use alternative entrances at the station. On the same side as the closed B4 gate, passengers can use A2 and A3 entrances. On the opposite side, along Anna Salai, entrances B1, B2, and B3 will remain open. These entry points are fully functional and will handle the regular flow of passengers. To make the transition easier, CMRL has installed clear direction signs and guidance boards at important spots around the station. Passengers can also approach station staff for help if needed.
CMRL has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by this change and has requested passengers to cooperate during construction and improvement work.
