BRICS Summit 2026: Delhi Airport Authority has Issued an Advisory for Passengers during the Event

Delhi Airport has issued a travel advisory for passengers travelling to and from the airport during the BRICS Summit 2026 from September 11 to 13, when the national capital will have heightened security arrangements and traffic restrictions because of the three-day summit.

Delhi Airport said that ongoing traffic restrictions and increased security measures in the Capital Region could affect travel to and from the airport. Usual travel during these days may take longer due to diversions and security restrictions; passengers have been asked to plan their journeys and allow extra travel time. Travellers have been advised to leave early to avoid last-minute problems and possible delays in reaching the airport.

Airport authorities have also recommended using the Delhi Metro for a smoother and more predictable journey during the summit period. Passengers travelling from different airport terminals can use specific Metro lines for better connectivity. Those travelling to or from Terminal 3 and Terminal 2 can use the Airport Express Line, and Passengers using Terminal 1 have been advised to use the Magenta Line.

The travel advisory follows a detailed traffic management plan issued by the Delhi Traffic Police, including controlled movement zones, diversion points, alternate routes, airport connectivity, railway station routes and arrangements for public transport during the BRICS Summit.

Security arrangements will be strengthened as leaders from BRICS nations arrive in New Delhi for the summit. Several roads and routes are expected to have regulated movement, and commuters have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel through restricted areas.

The Delhi Traffic Police has also asked motorists to plan their routes, check traffic updates and cooperate with security personnel. People travelling towards the airport, railway stations and other major transit points have been particularly advised to start early and allow extra travel time.
