Indian Railways has introduced a special 14-day summer tourist train package that will take travellers to popular hill destinations including Shimla, Kullu, and Manali. The tour also includes visits to famous cities such as Agra, Delhi, and Amritsar. This tourist train is being operated by South Star Rail in partnership

with Tour Times. The service is part of the Bharat Gaurav Train Scheme, which aims to promote tourism across the country through special train packages.
Summer Holiday Special Train
The summer holiday special train will depart on April 10, and bookings for the journey have already started. The trip will last about 13 to 14 days, during which passengers will travel to several tourist destinations in northern India.
Boarding Points
Passengers from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be able to board the train at different stations along the route. These stations include Penukonda, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Gooty, Dhone, Kurnool, Gadwal, Mahabubnagar, and Secunderabad. This makes it easier for travellers from these regions to join the tour.
Package Inclusions
The package is designed to be all-inclusive, covering travel, accommodation, sightseeing, and other services during the trip. The government is offering a 33% subsidy, which helps reduce the overall cost for tourists and makes the journey more affordable. The tour package starts at around ₹38,500 for Sleeper Class. Other options include ₹43,300 for Third AC, ₹49,100 for Second AC, and ₹58,400 for First AC. Travellers can choose the class based on their comfort and budget.
Moreover, this special tourist train aims to encourage more people to explore famous destinations in North India during the summer holidays. By providing a convenient travel package and subsidised fares, Indian Railways hopes to promote tourism while offering passengers a comfortable and organised travel experience.
