In preparation for the Deepavali festival, South Western Railway has announced special Express trains to accommodate the increased number of passengers. These trains will operate between SMVT Bengaluru and Kollam, with services also running to Bangalore Cantonment. These trains will enhance commutation during the festive season.
Diwali Special Trains from Bangalore to Kollam
1. Train No. 06561/06562 SMVT Bengaluru - Kollam - Bangalore Cantonment Express Specials:
• Train No. 06561: This train will depart from SMVT Bengaluru at 3:00 PM on October 16, 2025 (Thursday), heading towards Kollam via Kottayam. It will reach Kollam at 6:20 AM the next day.
• Train No. 06562: This train will leave Kollam at 10:45 AM on October 17, 2025 (Friday), and will arrive at Bangalore Cantonment at 3:30 AM the following day.
Coach Composition: The trains will have 2 AC Two Tier Coaches, 3 AC Three Tier Coaches, 11 Sleeper Class Coaches, 4 General Second Class Coaches, and 2 Second Class Coaches that are friendly for Divyangjan (differently-abled passengers).
2. Train No. 06567/06568 SMVT Bengaluru - Kollam - Bangalore Cantonment Express Specials:
• Train No. 06567: This train will depart from SMVT Bengaluru at 11:00 PM on October 21, 2025 (Tuesday), and will reach Kollam at 12:55 PM the next day.
• Train No. 06568: This train will leave Kollam at 5:00 PM on October 22, 2025 (Wednesday), and will reach Bangalore Cantonment at 9:45 AM the next day.
Coach Composition: Similar to the previous special, this train will have 2 AC Two Tier Coaches, 3 AC Three Tier Coaches, 11 Sleeper Class Coaches, 4 General Second Class Coaches, and 2 Second Class Coaches (Divyangjan Friendly).
Passengers can prebook their tickets for these special trains starting at 8:00 AM on October 13, 2025, through the Southern Railway reservation system.
These special trains are introduced to ease the travel experience during the busy festival season and ensure that everyone can celebrate Deepavali with their loved ones.
