Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is ready to open the Raghopur section of the Kachhi Dargah-Bidupur bridge—a major step towards improving road connectivity in the state. This bridge, built by the Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited (BSRDCL), will connect north and south Bihar, making travel smoother and faster for thousands of people.

The entire bridge will be 9.76 km long. The section that is now complete runs from Patna to Raghopur and covers 4.57 km. The bridge is expected to reduce travel time, ease traffic, and help people move more easily between districts.
Three-Phase Construction Plan
The BSRDCL has planned the bridge in three parts. The first phase stretches from Kachhi Dargah (NH-31) to Raghopur Diara in Vaishali. The second phase will connect the Hajipur-Mahanar Path (NH-122B) to Chak Sikandar (NH-322). The third and final phase links Raghopur Diara to the Hajipur-Mahanar Path.
The bridge begins from the Patna-Bakhtiyarpur four-lane bypass and ends at Chak Sikandar in Vaishali. This important route will help reduce congestion on busy roads and provide a better travel option for both local and long-distance travellers.
Better Roads, Better Lives
According to BSRDCL, the bridge will make a big difference in people’s daily lives. It will improve access to key areas, reduce the stress of long commutes, and help local businesses by making it easier to transport goods and services. The new road link is also expected to boost the economy in the nearby districts by connecting highways and making travel more efficient. For many residents, this means less time spent in traffic and more time at home or at work.
This new bridge section is another important step in Bihar’s journey to build a stronger and more modern road network. With better roads and easier connections between major areas, the state is moving forward with plans to improve transportation and daily life for its people. The opening of the Raghopur section will not only bring relief to commuters but also create new possibilities for growth and development in the region.
