Bihar Trains Cancelled

Several passenger trains running on routes such as Samastipur-Manihari, Darbhanga-Samastipur, Ara-Jayanagar, Muzaffarpur-Jayanagar, Darbhanga-Varanasi City, Samastipur-Barauni, and Samastipur-Muzaffarpur have been temporarily cancelled.

Many long-distance trains are also running on diverted routes during this period. These trains are being rerouted through sections like Samastipur-Muzaffarpur-Sitamarhi and Darbhanga-Sitamarhi-Raxaul-Sugauli. Important trains affected by diversions include the Gondia-Raxaul Express, Jayanagar-Ara train, Darbhanga-New Delhi Clone Special, Jayanagar-Amritsar Express, Darbhanga-Amritsar Express, Amritsar-Jayanagar Express, Tirupati-Raxaul Express, Darbhanga-Ahmedabad Express, and Raxaul-Howrah Express.

Reason Behind the Cancellation of Trains

According to Samastipur railway PRO R.K. Singh, the work is being carried out to improve rail connectivity, increase line capacity, and make train operations smoother and safer in the region. Along with cancellations and diversions, around 20 trains have been short-terminated at different stations, while seven trains have been rescheduled by one to three hours during the maintenance period.

The railway department said the temporary disruption is necessary for important infrastructure upgrades. Officials explained that non-interlocking work is an important part of the track doubling project, which will help improve train movement, reduce congestion, and increase the efficiency of railway operations in the busy Samastipur division in the future.

Railway officials have advised passengers to check the latest train schedules and running status before starting their journeys to avoid inconvenience.
