These areas include Whitefield, Hoodi, ITPL, Mahadevapura, and also central locations like Shivajinagar, Richmond Town, and the surroundings of MG Road.

Why is it Essential?

According to BESCOM officials, these power cuts are routine and part of their regular maintenance schedule. They clarified that there is no shortage of electricity or any major fault in the system. The interruptions are only temporary and are meant to improve the overall quality, stability, and safety of the power supply. Most of the outages will affect only specific feeders or small neighbourhood pockets, and power will be restored as soon as the work for that section is completed.

BESCOM's Power Distribution

BESCOM has also mentioned that they are trying their best to reduce inconvenience for households, shops, businesses, and offices that depend on uninterrupted electricity. The company handles power distribution across eight districts in Karnataka, including Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Kolar, Chikkaballapura, Davanagere, Tumkur, Chitradurga, and Ramanagara. BESCOM covers a vast area of over 41,000 square kilometres and serves a population of more than 2 crore people. It operates through four major zones: BMAZ North, BMAZ South, Bangalore Rural Zone, and Chitradurga Zone, along with 9 circles, 32 divisions, 147 subdivisions, and more than 500 section offices.

Residents who want more details or real-time updates about the scheduled power cuts can visit BESCOM's official website. People can also contact the 1912 customer helpline to check outage timings, get assistance, or report any issues during the power cut period.
