The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced a power outage in several Bengaluru areas on June 27. This interruption, scheduled from 10 am to 5 pm, is necessary for maintenance work. BESCOM advises residents to plan accordingly and reach out to the helpline if needed.

Power Outage Areas
The power cut will affect multiple locations, including Yelahanka New Town, Vaderahalli near Bellary Road, Y-Mac Circle, Nisarga Layout, IVRI, Shrik Apartment, BMS Hostel, and Kashiram Nagar. Additionally, HVV Layout and surrounding areas like Anantapur, Puttenahalli, ISRO Layout, LBS Nagar Rajanakunte, Nelakunte, Marasandra, Silver Oak, and nearby regions will experience the outage.
In a separate tragic incident, a tigress and her four cubs were found dead at the Male Mahadeshwara Wildlife Sanctuary in Karnataka's Chamarajanagar district. This is particularly concerning for Karnataka, which has the second-highest tiger population in India with 563 tigers and is known for its strong tiger conservation efforts.
Following this distressing discovery, Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre has taken swift action. He has directed the principal chief conservator of forests (PCCF) to investigate the matter thoroughly and provide a report within three days. Initial findings suggest that the tigers might have ingested meat tainted with toxic substances.
Investigation and Accountability
Minister Khandre emphasised the need for a comprehensive investigation into these unnatural deaths. He stated, "The cause of the unnatural deaths of tigers must be deeply examined and investigated. If negligence by forest staff is proven, disciplinary action will be taken against them. If this incident is confirmed to be the result of poisoning, I have instructed the officials concerned to register criminal cases against those involved."
The loss of these tigers represents a significant setback for Karnataka's wildlife conservation achievements. The state has been lauded for its efforts in protecting its tiger population, making this incident particularly disheartening.
As authorities work to uncover the truth behind this tragedy, there is an urgent call for accountability and justice. The investigation aims to determine whether negligence or foul play contributed to this devastating loss of wildlife.
Karnataka's commitment to tiger conservation remains steadfast despite this setback. The state continues to prioritise measures that ensure the safety and protection of its wildlife, reinforcing its dedication to preserving its rich biodiversity.
