Bengaluru has been experiencing continuous rainfall over the past few days, and this wet weather is expected to continue. A cyclonic circulation has strengthened in the region, causing moderate to heavy showers and cool breezes across the city. As a result, the temperature has dropped to a pleasant range of 18 to 20 degrees Celsius at night and around 27 degrees during the day.

Rain Likely Across Karnataka
The Meteorological Department has predicted that the rain will not only affect Bengaluru but also other parts of Karnataka. Over the next three days, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in districts like Chitradurga, Mysore, Belgaum, Koppal, Vijayapura, and Gadag. Some areas may even experience hailstorms. The department has said that many of these places could receive heavy rainfall within just a few hours.
Cooler Temperatures Across the City
Normally, Bengaluru's temperature stays between 32-33 degrees Celsius during the day and around 21 degrees at night. But this recent weather change has made the air cooler and more refreshing. The rain first started in the northern parts of the city, such as Yelahanka, Domlur, and Hebbal, and later spread to areas like Koramangala and Lalbagh. Now, the entire city is covered with clouds, and more rain is expected soon.
Daily Life Affected by Heavy Rains
While many people are enjoying the cooler weather, the continuous rain has also caused problems. Evening and night showers have led to traffic jams and delays in different parts of the city. Still, Bengaluru is preparing for even more rainfall. According to weather reports, thunder and hailstorms are possible on April 20 and 21.
This unusual weather is caused by a disturbance near the borders of Karnataka, including regions close to the Bay of Bengal, Rajasthan, and Telangana. This has made the cyclonic activity stronger, which is now affecting many areas.
Rain Spreading Beyond Bengaluru
This rain pattern is not limited to Bengaluru. Other regions like Chennai in Tamil Nadu, parts of Andhra Pradesh, and even areas in Rajasthan are also expecting heavy rainfall. The Southeast Bay of Bengal has seen unusual weather activity, which has made the rain more intense. Depending on how this system behaves, the rain may increase or decrease over the next few days, affecting more places in South India.
Bengaluru and nearby areas are facing a major weather event with ongoing rainfall, cooler temperatures, and more thunderstorms expected. While the city is dealing with a few disruptions, the rain has also brought a pleasant change to the usual hot summer days.
