As weather reports that the heat will increase steadily, from Sunday till the middle of next week, people in Bengaluru may need to rethink their weekend plans as temperatures are expected to rise sharply. Since there is very little chance of rain, there will be no cooling effect from thunderstorms,

allowing heat to build up during the day, leading to higher electricity use and increased health risks.
Bengaluru Weather Alert
From April 10 to April 15, the city is likely to experience a significant rise in temperature rather than sudden hot days. Experts say this is due to strong sunlight, low air moisture, and only a few scattered clouds, which together will cause steady warming, especially in areas filled with buildings and concrete, which trap heat and keep nights warm.
Sudden Rise in Temperatures
By Sunday, temperatures may reach around 36°C, and due to low wind, it may feel even hotter in many areas. Early next week, especially around Wednesday, temperatures could go up to 38°C. This is higher than the usual April average, which is normally in the low thirties. Even a small increase above normal can feel uncomfortable, and a rise of three to four degrees can make daily life more difficult.
Reason behind the Weather Change
The heat is increasing due to typical pre-monsoon conditions such as strong sunlight and weak winds. Without proper cloud cover or rain, temperatures rise faster. However, city conditions, including traffic and fewer trees, also add to the heat.
Advisory for Residents
Health experts advise people to stay hydrated, avoid going out in the afternoon, wear light clothes, and take care of vulnerable individuals. While this is not an extreme heatwave, the continuous heat and warm nights may still cause discomfort, so proper precautions are important.
