Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: Outer Ring Road Faces Severe Jams, Alternative Routes Suggested

The Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued a warning to those travelling through East Bengaluru's Outer Ring Road and nearby areas. These regions are experiencing significant traffic jams due to waterlogging and other incidents, causing major inconvenience for commuters.

Commuters are encouraged to explore alternative routes, especially during peak hours, to reduce travel time. The Bengaluru City HAL Airport Traffic Police Station highlighted that this advisory was prompted by numerous complaints from locals and passersby.

Alternative Routes for Commuters

For those heading from Bellandur towards commercial centres and residential zones at Devarabeesanahalli Junction, using service roads is recommended. This can help avoid congestion on main roads. Employees commuting to corporate offices like Intel, Global Tech Park, Eco Space, and Pritech Park should use the right lane of the Outer Ring Road. They should then switch to the middle service road at Devarabeesanahalli Junction to bypass rush hour traffic.

Additionally, travellers heading to busy locations such as the Passport Office, Eco World, and Sakra Hospital should take the left lane and proceed via the Passport Office service road. Those moving towards Marathahalli can use the middle lane of the OTR starting from Bellandur.

Weather Conditions Impacting Traffic

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recently announced that several parts of Bengaluru might experience rain in the coming days. While this rain could provide relief from high temperatures by cooling them down, it may also lead to issues like waterlogging and power outages.

With rain expected soon, traffic authorities urge commuters to adhere to their guidance and plan their journeys accordingly. This will help manage potential disruptions effectively.

The advisory aims to ensure smoother travel experiences amid challenging weather conditions. By following these guidelines, commuters can navigate through East Bengaluru more efficiently despite adverse circumstances.
