Several areas of Bengaluru will face a power cut on Monday, December 22, due to planned maintenance work by the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL). The electricity supply will be stopped for seven hours, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Why is the Power Cut Essential?
According to reports, the power shutdown is needed for quarterly maintenance work at the 66/11 kV Kambipura power station. This routine maintenance is carried out to ensure a safe, stable, and uninterrupted electricity supply in the future. Although it may cause temporary inconvenience, officials say the work is important to improve overall service quality.
List of Areas to be Affected
Many localities are expected to be affected during this period. These include Kambipura, Karubele, H Gollahalli, Katanayakanapura, Varahasandra, Swamijinagar, Anchepalya, and Aprameyanagar. In addition, power supply will be disrupted in areas around the Krishna Temple Government School, Provident Apartments, VBHC Avtomento, Good Earth, Srinidhi Green Layout, Devagere, Anepalya, and nearby neighbourhoods.
Advisory for Residents
KPTCL has advised residents living in these areas to plan their day. People are requested to complete important household and office work that requires electricity before the power cut begins. Officials have apologised for the inconvenience but stressed that such maintenance is essential to ensure better and more reliable power services in the long term.
