The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall in many parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, over the next few days. According to the report, rain is expected from now until April 11 due to the influence of several weather systems, such as cyclonic circulation and troughs.

Bengaluru Rain Alert
Rain is expected in several regions of the state, including Bengaluru, until 11 April. Coastal districts like Dakshina Kannada and Udupi may experience thunderstorms on April 6 and 7, along with winds of 30-40 km/h. In northern interior Karnataka, districts such as Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Raichur, and Kalaburagi are likely to receive heavy rain with thunder and lightning.
In south Karnataka, areas including Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Mysuru, and nearby regions may also receive heavy rainfall. Bengaluru is expected to have rain for two days, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures around 33°C and 23°C.
Reason behind the Weather Change
A trough extending from West Bengal through Chhattisgarh to Telangana is contributing to these conditions. At the same time, a cyclonic circulation is active over the Bay of Bengal near the south coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh. Another upper-air cyclonic system is present over Rayalaseema, and a trough from this region is extending across Tamil Nadu to the Gulf of Mannar. These systems have combined, leading to unstable weather across Karnataka with high chances of rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds.
