The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that many parts of Karnataka will experience light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms over the next seven days. These weather conditions may also include lightning and strong winds with speeds of around 30 to 40 kmph in some isolated areas.

According to the forecast released on Tuesday evening, several districts are likely to be affected by these conditions. These include Bengaluru Urban and Rural areas, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Bagalkote, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Gadag, Koppal, Bijapur, Ballari, Chamarajanagar, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hassan, Kodagu, Mysuru, Mandya, and Vijayanagar. Severe Weather Conditions in a Few Districts
Moreover, a few districts are expected to experience slightly more intense weather conditions. Places like Shivamogga, Haveri, Belagavi, and Dharwad may receive moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and stronger winds. Wind speeds in these regions could reach between 40 and 50 kmph, which may cause tree branches to fall or temporary disruptions in daily activities.
Advisory for Residents
However, the weather department has indicated that rainfall will not be uniform across the state but will occur in different locations at different times. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions, especially while traveling or staying outdoors during stormy weather. They should stay indoors and plan their day accordingly, depending on the weather conditions. They need to keep updated with local weather reports, and following safety guidelines can help reduce risks during this period of unstable weather.
