According to a statement released by BMRCL on Friday, metro train services between Deepanjali Nagar and Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (KSR) Metro stations will remain suspended from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Sunday. The two-hour interruption is necessary to ensure that maintenance work on the Purple Line is completed safely and efficiently.
Although services on this particular stretch will be affected, metro operations on the rest of the network will continue as usual. Passengers can still use metro services on several other routes from 7 a.m. onwards. Trains will operate normally between Challaghatta and Mysuru Road, Kempegowda (Majestic) and Whitefield (Kadugodi), Madavara and Silk Institute, and R.V. Road and Bommasandra.

Reason behind Bengaluru Metro Suspension

BMRCL has clarified that the temporary suspension is limited only to the section between Deepanjali Nagar and KSR Metro stations. Once the maintenance work is completed, regular metro services on the entire Purple Line will resume from 9 a.m. on the same day.

Advisory for Residents

The metro authority has advised commuters to plan their journeys and be aware of the temporary disruption. Passengers travelling during the affected hours may need to make alternative travel arrangements to avoid inconvenience. BMRCL has also requested the public to cooperate during the maintenance period, as the work is important for ensuring the safety, reliability, and smooth functioning of metro services.

Commuters are encouraged to check service updates before starting their journey on Sunday morning. After 9 a.m., normal operations will be restored, and trains will run according to the regular schedule across the Purple Line and the rest of the Namma Metro network.
