Bengaluru Metro commuters may face some inconvenience on May 17 as train services on a section of the Purple Line will start late due to maintenance work.

Bengaluru Metro Purple Line Services Disruption
According to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), metro services between Hosahalli and Cubbon Park stations will begin at 9 am instead of the usual 7 am on Sunday due to essential maintenance work being carried out between the Majestic and Central College metro stations on the Purple Line.
Bengaluru Metro Other Services
During the maintenance period, metro services will continue to run normally on some other stretches of the network. Trains from Challaghatta will operate up to Vijayanagar station, while services from the Whitefield (Kadugodi) side will run up to MG Road. Metro services on the Green Line and Yellow Line will continue as per the regular schedule.
BMRCL said trains from terminal stations on other routes, including Madavara to Silk Institute and RV Road to Bommasandra, will start at the usual Sunday timing of 7 am. Full services across the Purple Line are expected to resume from 9 am onwards.
Advisory for Commuters
The metro authority advised passengers to plan their travel accordingly and check updates before starting their journey. The temporary change is aimed at completing important maintenance work safely and ensuring smoother metro operations in the future.
