Bengaluru Metro Alert: Why Purple Line Services Are Halted Between Deepanjalinagara and KSR Station

Bengaluru commuters face a brief disruption on the Purple Line today. The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is undertaking essential maintenance work. This activity will shut train services between Deepanjalinagara and Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (KSR) Railway Station. The closure starts at 7:00 am and lasts until 9:00 am. BMRCL has scheduled this work solely to ensure long-term passenger safety.

Trains will continue to operate on other metro segments during this period. Passengers can travel from Challaghatta to Deepanjalinagara as usual. Services from KSR Railway Station to Whitefield (Kadugodi) will also remain unaffected. After 9:00 am, the entire Purple Line will resume its regular schedule. Regular services will return once technical teams finish their final safety checks.

Bengaluru Metro Purple Line Disruption: Check Affected Stations and Maintenance Schedule for 31 May 2026

Affected Stations in the Deepanjalinagara–KSR section

The temporary shutdown impacts six key stations along the western metro corridor. These include Deepanjalinagara, Attiguppe, Vijayanagar, Hosahalli, Magadi Road, and KSR railway station. Crowding is expected at Deepanjalinagara and Majestic interchange points during this window. Commuters often switch lines here, leading to heavy footfalls. Knowing these hotspots helps in choosing quieter boarding points or other modes.

Affected Station Current Service Status
Deepanjalinagara Terminus for western trains
Vijayanagar Suspended until 9:00 am
KSR Majestic Terminus for eastern trains
Magadi Road Suspended until 9:00 am

Alternative Routes for Bengaluru Purple Line Commuters

Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses offer a reliable detour for many. Use bus routes along Mysore Road to bypass the closed metro stretch. Using these buses helps bridge the gap between the affected metro stations. If you are travelling from Silk Institute, the Green Line is fully operational. Accessing the Whitefield stretch from the Green Line remains a feasible option.

Maintaining track safety is vital for the efficiency of the Bengaluru Metro. While the delay is inconvenient, it ensures safer commutes for thousands daily. Stay updated through the official social media handles of the BMRCL for updates. Regular operations will restore the city heartbeat after the maintenance concludes. Planning ahead ensures a smooth morning across the busy Garden City.
