The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited has decided to extend metro service hours on certain days in April to manage the extra crowd during the Indian Premier League 2026 matches in the city, to help cricket fans travel easily after late-night games.

Bengaluru Metro Extended Services
According to the announcement, metro services will run for longer hours on April 15 and April 24, when night matches are scheduled. On these days, the last trains from all terminal stations will operate beyond the usual closing time and continue operating until 2 a.m. the next day, making it easier for spectators to return home safely after the matches.
Bengaluru Metro's Updated Timetable
As per the updated timetable, trains from Whitefield, Kadugodi, and Bommasandra will leave at 12:30 a.m. Meanwhile, trains from Challaghatta and Madavara will depart at 12:45 a.m. The last train from the central interchange station, Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station, will leave at 1:30 a.m. towards all directions. The final metro service from R.V. Road station is scheduled at 2 a.m.
Bengaluru Metro's Special Arrangements
However, the metro authority has clarified that services will not be extended on April 18, even though both day and night matches are planned on that date. On that day, trains will run as per the regular schedule without any changes. Special arrangements have been introduced for passengers to make travel convenient. QR codes for two-way metro journeys have been added to digital IPL match tickets, allowing users to quickly access metro services without needing separate tickets.
Spectators have also been advised to use Cubbon Park Metro Station or Mahatma Gandhi Road Metro Station, depending on their stadium entry gates, for smoother travel before and after the matches.
