The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has received its fourth train for the upcoming Pink Line, which marks steady progress toward the beginning of new services. The new six-coach train, built by BEML, recently arrived at the Kothanur depot on Bannerghatta Road and has been sent for detailed inspection

and safety checks to ensure it meets all required standards before it can be used for passengers.
Bengaluru Metro's Pink Line
Earlier, the prototype train was delivered in December 2025, followed by two more trains in February. With the arrival of the fourth train, the metro authority is gradually building a strong fleet for the Pink Line. Officials are also working hard to receive the necessary approvals, which are important before starting commercial operations.
Bengaluru's New Services to Start by May
BMRCL is planning to begin services on a 7.5-kilometre elevated stretch between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere by May. This section is expected to improve connectivity in South Bengaluru, help reduce traffic problems, and make daily travel easier for many commuters in the area.
Driverless Train on Purple & Green Line
In addition to the Pink Line developments, another new driverless train has been sent by Titagarh Rail Systems Limited for use on the existing Bengaluru Metro's Purple and Green lines, and the train is expected to reach the Peenya depot soon. Once added to service, it will help reduce overcrowding issues, especially during busy hours.
Moreover, the arrival of new trains and ongoing preparations highlight that Bengaluru's metro expansion is moving forward steadily. These improvements are expected to provide better travel options and ease congestion across the city in the near future.
