Bengaluru Metro Commuters to Use NCMC and Launch of BMTC Mobile App 2.0

Along with the common mobility card, BMTC has launched the Namma BMTC Mobile App 2.0 by Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar at Vidhana Soudha on Thursday. Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara and Transport Minister BS Suresh were also present at the event. The new app brings bus and Metro services together on one digital platform, offering several facilities, including digital BMTC bus tickets, Metro QR tickets, bus passes, live bus tracking, journey planning and digital payments. It also supports unified ticketing for BMTC buses and BMRCL Metro journeys.

The app provides live information about BMTC buses, including their locations, estimated arrival times, routes, and stop-wise services. Passengers can also find nearby bus stops and check the services operating from them. Its journey planner allows users to enter their starting point and destination and see travel options using BMTC buses, Bengaluru Metro, or a combination of both. The app is available in Kannada and English. Bus stop names, labels, titles, and receipts are also available in Kannada. The Namma BMTC 2.0 app is available on the Google Play Store.

Passengers can purchase BMTC bus tickets through the app and access their active tickets and passes in one place. Metro QR tickets can also be purchased directly through the platform. The app allows passengers to buy Vistara Pass, Vajra Gold Pass, General Vistara Pass, Vayu Vajra Pass, and NICE Road Pass. Digital payments are supported through UPI and mobile wallets, while users can also view previous transactions and digital receipts.

The new system is expected to make Bengaluru's public transport network more digital, cashless, connected, and passenger-friendly by bringing key Metro and bus services together.
