Residents of Haralur and Kasavanahalli now have better access to the Metro because of the new BMTC feeder bus routes, MF-22E and MF-22EA, which connect inner residential areas to the Yellow Line, making daily travel easier. Earlier, only areas like HSR Layout had internal feeder buses, while nearby neighbourhoods remained

poorly connected even after the Metro started operating in August 2025. This led residents and citizen groups to demand better last-mile connectivity so that people living in interior layouts could easily reach Metro stations.
Bengaluru Metro Feeder Buses
The new feeder buses, launched on March 9, have affordable fares ranging from Rs 6 to Rs 25. They start and end at Hosa Road Metro Station and cover key points such as Choodasandra Circle, Silver County Road, Harluru village, Sarjapur Road, Iblur Junction, and parts of HSR Layout before looping back through areas like Somasundarapalya and Kudlu. These routes mainly serve localities like Harluru and Kasavanahalli, which previously had little to no bus service due to narrow roads. Despite this, these areas have grown rapidly, with thousands of apartments and many daily commuters.
Public Demands
According to a civic volunteer, the lack of public transport has forced residents to depend on private vehicles, increasing traffic congestion. The new feeder buses aim to solve this by connecting interior areas to main roads and the Metro.
Currently, three buses run during peak hours with a gap of 35-40 minutes. While the response has been positive, usage is still slowly increasing due to low awareness and school holidays. Moreover, citizen groups are promoting the service to improve ridership.
Commuters' Opinions
Commuters state that the service is convenient and reduces travel stress. However, some issues like bus tracking and frequency still need improvement. BMTC officials stated that they are monitoring demand and may expand the service if usage grows.
