Rail passengers travelling between Chennai and Bengaluru will face major disruptions for several weeks due to railway work in Bengaluru for yard remodelling at Bengaluru Cantonment and Whitefield stations, aimed at improving railway operations in the future. However, during this period, passengers may experience inconvenience.

List of Bengaluru-Chennai Trains to be Disrupted
The disruption will take place from May 29 to July 7, affecting more than 10 train services on the Chennai-Bengaluru and Chennai-Mysuru routes, as well as some long-distance trains passing through this corridor.
Several important trains will be completely cancelled on selected days between June 3 and July 7. These include the Chennai Central-Ashokapuram Kaveri Express, Chennai-Bengaluru Superfast Mail, Yesvantpur-Chennai Superfast Express, and Mysuru-Chennai Superfast Express. In addition, MEMU services running between Bengaluru and Jolarpettai will also remain suspended during this time.
Reschedule of Trains
Apart from cancellations, some trains will be rescheduled and may run late by 30 minutes to as much as 3 hours on certain dates, such as May 29, June 2, June 7, June 19, June 23, and July 3. Trains like the Mysuru-Renigunta Superfast Express, SMVT Bengaluru-New Tinsukia Express, and Hatia-Bengaluru Express are among those likely to be delayed.
Long-Distance Trains Diversion
There will also be diversions of several long-distance trains, running on different routes and skipping important stations such as Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Renigunta, Arakkonam, and Perambur. Some of the trains affected by diversions include the Mysuru-Howrah Express, SMVT Bengaluru-Guwahati Express, Dadar-Puducherry Express, and Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express.
In one case, a Jolarpettai-KSR Bengaluru MEMU service will be partially cancelled on July 7 and will run only up to Devangonthi.
