Bengaluru Bandh Chaos: Flight Cancellation And Rescheduling Requests Flooded

Karnataka's capital city of Bengaluru will come to a complete halt as organizations and activists have called for a 'Bengaluru Bandh' on September 26 in protest of the State Government's stance on the Cauvery Water Management Authority's decision to release 5,000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu.

On Tuesday, September 26, the Bengaluru Bandh has been scheduled from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This all-day strike is anticipated to cause significant delays to the city's markets and public transportation. The bandh had a significant impact on several industries, including the aviation sector, which saw a spike in flight cancellations and rescheduling requests.

As a result of the bandh, numerous important public transit routes were shut down, making it challenging for travellers to get to the airport though the metro will remain open. Many travellers were forced to cancel or postpone their flights as a result. Airlines' operational and customer service personnel were under a great deal of stress as a result of an increase in passenger requests to reschedule their travel arrangements.

Not only did customers experience annoyance from flight cancellations and rescheduling, but both airlines and passengers suffered financial losses. The cost of rebooking flights or locating alternate forms of transportation fell on travellers, while the cost of seating passengers on alternate flights or issuing refunds fell on airlines.

Kempagowga International Airport administration has issued an advisory for the passengers to reach the airport as early as possible to avoid any kind of disruption. Before leaving for the airport, passengers were encouraged to check the status of their flights and to get in touch with the airline's customer service for support.
