Ayodhya Shines with World's Largest Solar Street Lights, Making Guinness Record

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's visionary plan to turn Ayodhya into a solar city is taking a remarkable leap forward with the creation of the world's largest 'solar-powered street lights line.' This extraordinary initiative involves installing 470 solar street lights along a 10.2 km stretch, from Guptar Ghat to Nirmali Kund, illuminating the city with renewable energy.

Notably, Ayodhya is poised to secure its place in the Guinness Book of World Records once again, following the previous achievement during Deepotsav for lighting the highest number of earthen lamps.

Progress Under Chief Minister's Guidance

Under the diligent guidance of CM Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has made significant progress, completing around 70% of the installation work. The remaining 160 solar street lights are set to be installed before January 22, culminating in a groundbreaking world record for Ayodhya.

Ayodhya UPNEDA project officer, Praveen Nath Pandey, shared on Tuesday that the city will witness a historic moment by January 22, as 470 solar street lights will adorn the 10.2 km stretch from Lakshman Ghat to Guptar Ghat, extending up to Nirmali Kund.

Technological Brilliance in Illumination

The ongoing project has already seen the installation of 310 solar lights from Lakshman Ghat to Guptar Ghat. Simultaneously, efforts are underway to install the remaining 160 solar-powered street lights between Guptar Ghat and Nirmali Kund, covering a distance of 1.85 km. These solar-powered street lights operate at a mere 4.4 watts and are equipped with smart technology, ensuring energy efficiency and smart illumination. Once completed, the entire 10.2 km stretch will be adorned with a radiant glow, symbolizing Ayodhya's commitment to sustainable energy practices.

The existing world record, held by Malham in Saudi Arabia, involved the installation of 468 solar-powered lights over a 9.7 km stretch in 2021. Ayodhya, under the leadership of the Yogi government, aims to surpass this record by installing 470 solar-powered lights, covering an impressive 10.2 km.

Guinness Record in the Making

Notably, Ayodhya had previously etched its name in the Guinness Book of World Records during Diwali in 2023. This accolade was achieved when 25,000 volunteers from Avadh University collectively lit an astounding 22.23 lakh lamps at the ghats of river Sarayu.

Discussions are currently underway between the local administration, UPNEDA officials, and representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records regarding Ayodhya's latest feat. The city's commitment to sustainable energy and record-breaking achievements continues to garner attention and admiration on a global scale, setting Ayodhya on a path of illuminated progress.
