The Assam government is gearing up to establish the Kaziranga Orchid Park, a new site aimed at boosting tourism and protecting endangered orchid species in the state. This park is being developed by the Horticulture Department under the guidance of Agriculture Minister Atul Bora.
Minister Atul Bora tweeted on June 15, "The Kaziranga Orchid Park, set up by the Assam Government's Horticulture Department, will be a significant addition to Kaziranga's thriving tourism sector." Assam is home to about 800 orchid species, with 70 of them endangered. "The park aims not only to attract tourists but also to take special steps to ensure the survival of these endangered species," Bora added.
While inspecting the construction site in Kohora, the minister observed the progress and the stressed urgency to accelerate the work. "Today, I visited the construction site in Kohora, assessed the progress, and instructed the Horticulture Department officials to hasten the completion," he stated. Assam anticipates that this park will attract more tourists.
