The Union Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, inaugurated the Dr MGR Chennai Central – Bhagat ki Kothi (Jodhpur) Super Fast Express via video conference. The event took place at Pune Railway Station on Saturday. L. Murugan, the Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, participated virtually from Mumbai.

At Dr MGR Chennai Central, BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan was present alongside Southern Railway officials, members of the Rajasthani Association and Bharat Mata Association, and rail passengers. This new train service aims to enhance interstate rail connectivity between Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan.
Enhanced Connectivity Between Regions
The newly launched train will operate five days a week. It addresses the increasing passenger demand between South India and the Marwar region in western Rajasthan. The service departs from Chennai Central at 7:45 pm and arrives at Bhagat Ki Kothi by 12:15 pm on the third day.
Key stops along the route include Gudur, Nellore, Ongole, Vijayawada, Warangal, Chandrapur, Wardha, Akola, Bhusaval, Nandurbar, Bharuch, Vadodara, Sabarmati, Mahesana, Bhildi, Raniwara, Marwar Bhinmal, Jalor, Samdari and Luni. These stops are strategically chosen to cater to a wide range of passengers.
Significance of New Train Service
This train is expected to significantly boost travel convenience between Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. By connecting major cities along its route efficiently, it serves as a vital link for passengers traveling between these regions.
The introduction of this service reflects the Indian Railways' commitment to improving connectivity across states. It also highlights efforts to meet growing travel demands while ensuring comfort and efficiency for passengers.
