The Amarnath Yatra 2024 is scheduled to commence on June 29 and will continue until August 19. Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, the Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) of Kashmir, has assured comprehensive arrangements for pilgrims, including lodging, medical care, and essential supplies.
Pilgrims Eager for Helicopter Services
Devotees are excited about participating in the holy yatra and are keen on booking helicopter services online. The online reservation for helicopter services is expected to start in the first week of June. The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board will soon disclose the date, cost, and other details for these bookings.
Langar Organisations Await Helicopter Booking
Representatives from various organisations providing 'langar' are also anticipating the availability of helicopter services. This will facilitate their preparations and ensure smooth operations during the yatra.
Pre-Registration and Route Repairs
Pre-registration for the Amarnath Yatra 2024 began on April 15 and is progressing swiftly. Intense repairs are being carried out on both Yatra routes. Snow clearance and the erection of railings in critical areas are ongoing. Committees will start entering Jammu and Kashmir with trucks filled with goods to set up langar in the base camps from June 15.
Security and Medical Preparations
Personnel from various security forces, including the police, NDRF, and paramilitary groups, are currently undergoing specialised training. This training is taking place in the steep terrain of Nud in Samba. So far, 260 soldiers and commanders from seven batches have completed their training, with more batches undergoing the same rigorous program.
Moreover, 230 doctors from all 20 districts in Jammu and Kashmir have been tasked with issuing Compulsory Health Certificates (CHCs) in preparation for the yatra.
