Airlines Alert Flyers Travel Advisory Issued as Heavy Rain Hits Mumbai and Delhi

Travelers are advised to monitor their flight status closely and plan for additional travel time, as road congestion is also expected. The unfavorable weather conditions may result in minor disruptions to flight schedules, prompting airlines to urge passengers to stay prepared.

IndiGo Airlines' Update

IndiGo Airlines issued an update on X addressing the impact of heavy rains on flight operations. The airline noted that persistent rainfall in Mumbai has disrupted air traffic, resulting in minor delays. "Due to continuous rains in #Mumbai, air traffic is being affected, causing slight delays in our services. Our teams are working closely with air traffic control to restore normal operations at the earliest. We advise passengers to check their flight status on our website or app before leaving for the airport and allow additional travel time as road traffic is moving slowly," IndiGo stated.

The airline also highlighted travel challenges in Delhi, where the downpour has caused major roadblocks and slow-moving traffic. Passengers were urged to consider alternative routes and verify their flight status before heading to the airport. "Today's heavy rainfall has led to road closures and traffic congestion in Delhi. Please keep extra time in hand, explore alternate routes where possible, and check your flight status on our website or app prior to departure. Our teams are committed to assisting passengers and ensuring smooth operations. We sincerely thank you for your patience and cooperation," the airline added.

Air India's Announcement

Air India has also issued an advisory for passengers traveling to and from Delhi, cautioning that ongoing rainfall could disrupt flight operations. The airline stated on X: "Rain may affect flights operating in and out of Delhi today. We request passengers to check their flight status at https://airindia.com/in/en/manage/flight-status.html
before leaving for the airport and allow extra travel time."

SpiceJet's Weather Update

SpiceJet alerted passengers about possible delays and changes to its flight schedules due to unfavorable weather conditions in Mumbai. In its update on X, the airline said: "Adverse weather in Mumbai (BOM) may impact all departures and arrivals, as well as subsequent flights. We advise passengers to monitor their flight status at http://spicejet.com/#status."

Akasa Air's Safety Measures

Akasa Air issued a notice for passengers in both Mumbai and Delhi, where heavy rains are causing traffic congestion and delays on routes to airports. The airline recommended allocating extra time for travel to ensure timely check-in. "Heavy rainfall in certain parts of Mumbai and Delhi has led to traffic slowdowns and congestion on roads leading to the airport. We advise travelers to plan ahead and allow additional travel time to reach the airport well before departure," Akasa Air said in its statement.

These advisories, issued by leading airlines, aim to help passengers prepare for possible weather-related disruptions. By staying updated on flight schedules and planning their journeys carefully, travelers can minimize inconvenience during the ongoing rainfall.
