Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Riverfront Introduces Free Bird-Watching Sessions; Check Details

Bird enthusiasts in Ahmedabad have a new opportunity to explore their passion every weekend. The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited has introduced free bird-watching sessions on Saturdays and Sundays. This initiative aims to showcase the diverse bird species that visit the riverfront, particularly during the morning and evening hours.

Bird lovers in Ahmedabad have a special treat waiting for them. The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited has started free bird-watching sessions every Saturday and Sunday. These sessions give people a chance to enjoy the peaceful sight of birds that visit the riverfront, especially during the early mornings and evenings.

To join, you just need to register using a simple link or scan a code that takes you to a Google Form. Once you're signed up, you can enjoy these relaxing sessions while learning more about the birds around you.

Where and When You Can Watch Birds

There are four beautiful locations along the riverfront set aside for bird watching:

Biodiversity Park
Under Ambedkar Bridge
Flower Park
Dudheshwar Bridge near Railway Subhash Bridge

You can visit any of these spots between 6 AM to 8 AM or 5 PM to 7 PM. These times are best for bird watching as many birds are active then.

Expert bird watchers will be there to guide you. They'll bring telescopes, binoculars, and cameras to help you spot and capture the beauty of the birds. You'll also get handbooks to learn about different bird species and their habits.

A City of Birds

Ahmedabad is home to nearly 2 lakh birds from 191 different species every year. This programme, supported by Municipal Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani, hopes to help people feel closer to nature and enjoy the wonderful variety of birds the city welcomes.

These sessions are not just fun - they help raise awareness about birds and the need to protect their habitats. It's a great way to learn, relax, and spend time with nature without leaving the city.

The bird-watching experience is part of a larger effort to promote eco-tourism and sustainable development in Ahmedabad. By offering such thoughtful events, the city is showing that it cares about both the environment and the well-being of its people.
