Starting February 15, the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) has made travel easier for passengers between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. New direct Metro rides now connect APMC in Ahmedabad to important destinations in Gandhinagar, such as Sector-1 and GIFT City. This change comes after GMRC received approval from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety to increase the number of Metro trains on this route.
No More Train Changes for Commuters
Earlier, passengers traveling between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar had to switch Metro trains at either Motera Stadium or Gujarat National Law University (GNLU). This made the journey longer and less convenient. With the new direct Metro services, passengers no longer need to change trains, making travel smoother and faster.
Bus Services for Better Connectivity
To make travel even easier, GMRC will also introduce bus services. These buses will run every 30 minutes between GNLU station and GIFT City offices, stopping at Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) on the way. This Metro and bus service combination will ensure a more connected and comfortable travel experience for commuters.
More Trains for Faster Travel
GMRC has also increased the number of trains on these routes. Six trains will run back and forth on the APMC-Motera-GNLU-GIFT City route. Meanwhile, 14 trains will operate on the APMC-Motera-GNLU-Sector-1 route, with 15 trains running in the reverse direction. This increase in services will make Metro travel more frequent and efficient for passengers.
These new measures by GMRC are an important step in improving public transport in the region. By introducing direct Metro rides and bus services, GMRC is making daily travel between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar easier and more reliable. This initiative will not only help regular commuters but also support the overall development and accessibility of both cities.
