The construction of an 8-lane expressway connecting Ahmedabad to Bhavnagar and India's first greenfield smart city, Dholera, is almost finished. The project, costing Rs 4,500 crore, has reached 91% completion, with road work expected to be done by the end of January.

Currently, the journey between Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar takes about 3 hours and 15 minutes for a distance of 169 km. Once the expressway is open, this travel time will be reduced to just 1 hour and 45 minutes, covering a distance of 141 km.
The expressway itself is 83 km long, and travelers will be able to cover this stretch in just 83 minutes. This will provide a fast and smooth travel option for commuters and businesses.
Better Connectivity and Modern Infrastructure
This expressway is an important step in modernizing transportation in the region. It will improve connectivity to Dholera and help in the growth of businesses and industries. The project is a key part of the development of Dholera as a smart city and will make travel easier for residents and visitors.
In addition to the expressway, the construction of the Sardar Railway Overbridge is also in progress. This bridge is expected to be completed by April and will further improve travel by removing traffic bottlenecks.
A Major Step in India's Infrastructure Growth
The Ahmedabad-Dholera expressway is a big step in India's infrastructure development. It will make travel faster, support economic growth, and improve the quality of life in the region. With the project set to be completed soon, the expressway will bring a new level of convenience and efficiency to travel between Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar.
