The research also indicates that monsoon seasons in India are becoming increasingly unpredictable, with prolonged summer-like conditions on non-rainy days.

The study highlights the rising temperatures and humidity as key factors contributing to the increased likelihood of heatwaves globally, especially in tropical regions. It suggests that adopting hyper-granular risk assessments and establishing climate-risk observatories should be a national priority to protect agriculture, industry, and infrastructure from climate change effects.
Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Manipur were identified as regions facing both heat stress and extreme rainfall. This underscores the need for comprehensive strategies for mitigation and adaptation to safeguard vulnerable communities.

Recommendations for Climate Resilience
The study recommends using GIS technology for informed policy decisions, climate adaptation, and resilience. It emphasizes a holistic, data-driven approach to climate change, enabling decision-makers to plan for resilient infrastructure, disaster management, and citizen engagement effectively.
One of the key suggestions is the establishment of a heat risk observatory and risk financing instruments. Additionally, appointing heat-risk champions within district disaster management committees could accelerate efforts towards heat resilience.

The research stresses the necessity of micro-level hazard assessments and hyper-local risk evaluations. Relying solely on global models may not be effective in addressing specific regional challenges posed by climate change.
