Bangalore Faces 16-Hour Power Cut on 6 September

As a few areas of the city are undergoing maintenance work at the 66/11 kV Banaswadi Power Transformer-3, there will be a 16-hour shutdown of the power supply on 6th September from 6 A.M. to 10 P.M. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced that there will be prolonged hours of power cuts in Bangalore city from September 5th to September 15th, from 6 AM to 10 PM. Even though the residents are discontented, BESCOM has informed them to plan their day accordingly.

Impacts of Power Outage on Residents of Bangalore

People residing in the affected areas of Bangalore raised their concerns in the X account regarding the power outage since September 5th. One user complained that he faced a power cut since 8 P.M. on 5th September and it was not restored until 3 A.M. on 6th September. He further enquired about the restoration of power. One resident of the Malleshpalya area expressed her disappointment with BESCOM's poor service, as there was no response from the customer care team even after raising the power cut issue without any prior notice. Another netizen expressed dissatisfaction that Bangalore, being an IT hub, is still facing power outages in the AI age.
