The Delhi Metro has completed installing mist spray systems and anti-smog guns at all 143 elevated stations across the city, marking an important step in the government's efforts to reduce air pollution. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared this update on Wednesday, calling it a major achievement for improving air quality

in public spaces. The chief minister also stated the project was completed ahead of schedule and described it as a practical solution to tackle air pollution at busy places like metro stations, where thousands of commuters pass through every day.
Installation of Anti-Smog Guns
As per official information, a total of 131 mist spray systems and 12 anti-smog guns have been installed across the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) network. These pollution-control devices cover 89 elevated stations along roads and 54 stations off-road. At stations where it was not technically possible to install mist spray systems, anti-smog guns were used instead.
Major Stations to Get Installation
According to the data, work on installing anti-smog guns began earlier, with 20 units already in place by November 2025. Another 10 anti-smog guns were added by the end of January this year. These devices have been installed at major locations, including Kashmere Gate, IT Park, Anand Vihar, Punjabi Bagh, Peergarhi, and Mundka Depot, among others.
At the same time, the installation of mist spray systems progressed steadily throughout January. Coverage increased from 43 stations at the beginning of the month to 131 stations by January 30. When combined with the stations fitted with anti-smog guns, the target of covering all 143 elevated stations was fully achieved.
Contributing to the City's Aesthetics
Moreover, the government has also focused on improving the city's appearance. Artwork has been completed on 50 metro pillars across different corridors. These artworks showcase themes related to nature, birds, and cultural symbols, enhancing Delhi's visual appeal while promoting a cleaner & more pleasant urban environment.
