The East Coast Railway has announced that it will run 132 special trains to help people travel comfortably during the Holi festival, as many passengers travel long distances to celebrate Holi with their families, and usual services often cannot handle the extra crowd. The special trains will run from the

last week of February until the end of March, covering the period when travel demand is highest.
Holi Special Trains Through East Coast Railway Region
Apart from these 132 trains, another 150 special trains from other parts of India will pass through the East Coast Railway region, making it easier for people in this area to find seats and travel smoothly during the busy festival time. ECoR expects that with these extra trains, there will be less crowding and fewer problems for holiday travelers.
Major Key Routes
Some of the key routes where these trains will start include Bhubaneswar to Yesvantpur, Bhubaneswar to Dhanbad, Sambalpur to Erode, and Puri to Patna. From Visakhapatnam, special Holi trains will also go to places like Tirupati, Shalimar, Cherlapalli, and SMVT Bengaluru. These routes were chosen because thousands of people travel on them during the festival.
Major Stations in Between
Railway authorities are preparing to manage the big rush of passengers. They have set up special areas at important stations such as Bhubaneswar, Puri, Sambalpur, Berhampur, and Visakhapatnam to handle crowds and improve safety. They have also deployed extra railway protection force (RPF) staff and commercial workers to help guide passengers and keep things organized. Travelers are advised to check train schedules, seat availability, and other details on official railway websites before planning their journeys.
