Meetha Reetha Shahib, Kumaon

Meetha Reetha Sahib, built in the year 1960, is a pilgrimage centre of the Sikhs. According to legends, this is the place which was visited by Guru Nanak for religious and spiritual discussion with Gorakhpanthi Jogis. The place which is situated at the confluence of rivers Ratiya and Lodhiya, is popular for the trees of Sapindus emarginatus, also known as sweet Reetha.

The temple of Dhernath is also located close by Meetha Reetha Shahib. During the Baisakhi Poornima, a huge fair is organised in the temple. The temple is accessible from Dhunaghat, which is located on the Lohaghat-Devidhura road.
