Deomali, Jeypore

Deomali stands at a height of 1,672 m above the sea level which earns it the prestigious position of being the highest peak in Orissa as well as the entire Eastern Ghats. It is around 84 km from Jeypore. Embellished with murmuring brooks, deep valleys, dense forests and intervening meadows, this place is rich in flora and fauna.

Deomali is also home to tribes like Bhunia, Bhotra, Paraja along with Mali. Many adventure lovers come to this place for hang gliding, trekking and mountaineering. Railway tracks pass through tunnels in Deomali, the view from which is very scenic.

High hills and valleys add to the beauty of the surrounding. The ride becomes quiet enthralling and worth experiencing. Even the road routes are quite thrilling and adventurous as they contain many blind curves and they seem to descend spirally from the top of the mountains.
