Train No. 16511, which runs between KSR Bengaluru and Kozhikode, will operate on a changed route starting May 5 from Bengaluru. Due to this diversion, the train will travel through Yesvantpur Junction, Chikka Banavara, Tumakuru, Arsikere Junction, and Hassan instead of its usual route.

Bengaluru-Kozhikode Train
As a result of this change, the train will not stop at some of its regular stations. These include Kunigal, B.G. Nagar, Shravanabelagola, and Channarayapatna. Passengers who usually board or get off at these stations should take note of the temporary change and plan their travel accordingly.
Why is the Change Made?
The railway authorities have made this decision to allow important infrastructure work to be carried out. According to a statement from Southern Railway, pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking works are being undertaken in the South Western Railway zone. These works are necessary to maintain and upgrade railway tracks and signalling systems, ensuring safer and smoother train operations in the future. Non-interlocking work usually involves changes or upgrades to signalling systems, which require certain tracks or routes to be temporarily blocked. During this time, train services are often diverted or rescheduled to avoid disruption and ensure safety.
Passengers are advised to check the latest updates from Indian Railways before starting their journey. It is also recommended to confirm train timings and routes, as such changes may continue for a few days, depending on the progress of the work.
