Plans are moving ahead to extend the Namo Bharat rapid rail service, which currently operates between Delhi and Meerut, towards Rajasthan through Haryana. As part of the project, an important change has been made regarding the location of the train depot. Earlier, the depot was proposed to be built in

Dharuhera, but it will now be constructed at Pachgaon. For this purpose, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has requested around 99 acres of land. The site has already been identified by the district administration, and a proposal has been sent to the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC).
Namo Bharat New Corridor
The proposed Namo Bharat corridor will connect Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi with Behror in Rajasthan. In the initial phase, train services will run between Sarai Kale Khan and Bawal in Haryana. To support the corridor, 15 new stations are planned along the route. Several of these stations will be built underground to improve connectivity in densely populated urban areas.
Major Stations
Out of the planned stations, eight will be underground. In Delhi, the underground stations will be located at INA, Munirka, and Aerocity. In Haryana, underground stations are planned at Cyber City, Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Kherki Daula, and Manesar in Gurugram.
Reason behind the Revision of Plan
The decision to shift the depot from Dharuhera to Pachgaon was made after revising the original plan. Initially, NCRTC had requested 172 acres of land in Dharuhera for the depot. However, authorities later decided that Pachgaon would be a more suitable location. In addition to the depot land, NCRTC has also sought about 123 acres of land in Pachgaon and Dharuhera for commercial development. These areas could be used for facilities such as shopping complexes, office spaces, and other business activities.
Work on the project has already progressed. Surveys for the nearly 93.5-km stretch between Cyber City and Bawal have been completed. Engineers have also conducted pile tests at 22 locations to check soil conditions and determine construction feasibility. Furthermore, sites have been identified for shifting water, sewer, and gas pipelines that may be affected by the upcoming construction work.
The project is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity between Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan once completed.
