Major disruptions to train services are expected at KSR Bengaluru Railway Station as South Western Railway begins a large-scale infrastructure upgrade project, including modernisation of the signalling system and extension of platforms to improve operational efficiency, safety, and the station's capacity to handle more trains in the future. As a result, passengers are likely to face cancellations, diversions, delays, and changes in train schedules over the coming weeks.

Reason behind the Train Disruption
The railway authorities have planned extensive yard remodelling and signalling works at the station. These upgrades are considered necessary to improve train movement, reduce congestion, and support the growing number of services operating through Bengaluru's busiest railway hub. Once completed, the project is expected to make train operations smoother and more efficient.
Bengaluru Trains to be Affected
Due to construction activities, several trains will either be completely cancelled or partially cancelled. Many services will start or end their journeys at alternative stations such as Yeshwantpur, Kengeri, Bengaluru Cantonment, or Yelahanka instead of KSR Bengaluru. Some trains will also be diverted through different routes, while others may skip selected stations.
Bengaluru-Mysuru Route to be Affected
The Bengaluru-Mysuru route is expected to be among the most affected corridors. Several passenger and MEMU services used by daily commuters will face temporary suspension or route modifications during the upgrade period. Railway officials have advised passengers to check train schedules and platform information before travelling to avoid inconvenience.
Advisory for Passengers
Passengers are encouraged to stay updated through official railway announcements, as train timings, routes, and platform allocations may change frequently during the construction period. Once the project is completed, KSR Bengaluru station is expected to offer more reliable and efficient rail services for commuters and long-distance travellers alike.
