History of Mountaineering

National Mountaineering Day is celebrated on August 1st in the United States by enthusiastic mountaineers. This day marks the incredible achievement of Bobby Matthews and Josh Madigan. They managed to climb all 46 peaks of the Adirondack Mountains in New York. Their journey ended with the successful climb of the last peak, Whiteface Mountain, on August 1, 2015.

The day was created to honor Bobby Matthews and Josh Madigan's extraordinary accomplishments. Their dedication and hard work in climbing the tough peaks of the Adirondacks have made a lasting impact on the history of mountaineering.
