The number of people using the metro is increasing rapidly, with yearly growth of around 30 to 40 percent. This steady rise shows that more citizens trust the metro for its comfort, safety, and reliability.

Make in India Initiative

The launch of these indigenous metro coaches supports the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the "Make in India" programme. This initiative aims to boost domestic manufacturing, especially in advanced sectors like urban rail transport. Producing metro coaches within the country helps reduce dependence on imports and strengthens local industries and supply chains. It also improves daily travel for people by providing better public transport options.

Expansion of Metro Services

This achievement is expected to speed up the expansion of metro services to other cities, including Surat. It also supports India's goal of becoming self-reliant under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission. Overall, the new metro coaches represent a positive step towards cleaner, smarter, and more inclusive urban transport systems across the country, benefiting both commuters and the economy in the long run.
