Saranga is located at a distance of 81 km from the township of Dhenkanal. The place has religious significance. Here the Anantasyi image of Lord Vishnu is depicted on the rocky bed under the Brahmani river at Sarangi. The image has the beautiful depiction of the hoods of Ananta, the mythological serpent king.

He is shown spreading his hoods over the head of Lord Vishnu in the form of a crown and as a cover. The image also shows the Primal Lotus. This Lotus houses Brahma, the creator of the universe. This lotus is shown to originate from the naval of Lord Vishnu.

In the picture, Lord Vishnu is shown to enjoy a deep slumber while lying on the rocky bed of the river Brahmani. Devotees visit this place in large numbers to have a glimpse of this reverted image of Lord Vishnu.
