Junagarh is located 20 km away from Dharamgarh. Junagarh earns its fame from the ancient temples situated in this place. Several Oriya inscriptions that were found from these temples indicates that this place once witnessed the brutal ‘Sati’ rite. One famous Lankeswari Temple is dedicated to Goddess Lankeswari, who is believed to be the goddess of war, adds to the pride of this place.

‘Khandabasa’ is a festival which is celebrated with huge pomp and fervour to commemorate the honour of the Goddess. Other temples like Dadhi Baman, Bhairav Gudi and Kanak Durga are the significant temples in Junagarh. Durga Puja and Ganesh Chaturthi are celebrated with congregation of a huge crowd all over Junagarh.

The majestic Jojna Dam built across the Jojna river on the backdrop of rocky hills is a sight to marvel. A small waterfall named ‘Palmajharan’ located amidst the folds of a green forest is a picnic destination for many local people and tourists as well.
